What We Learned

We learned about the seasons and what made them change. We talked about how we are in fall now and that during fall is when people pick apples out of the orchards and who better to talk about than Johnny Appleseed :)

We made fall handprint wreaths out of a piece of diaper box and construction paper and studied proverbs 10:5

For math we did sums up to 20 and for our extra we talked about our community who helps make it run.

For art we made paper plate apples and learned you can't leave Matalie alone with a paint brush :)

And for our explore day we visited our local fire station.
What did you learn this week??? :)

I'm Ready Now

For You to take over.

For where the world sees someone broken and scared

You see a soldier ready for the battlefield

I will wake each day and put on my armour for I know

There is a war ragging on with the enemy of my soul

I refuse to give in to the struggles of this world

Because I know you have created me for so much more

And I am ready now.....

Going To The Chapel....

Ok, not really....but I did get a chance to get back in my wedding dress a couple of weeks ago and help an old friend of mine build her wedding portfolio. You've heard me mention Kelsey from Kelsey Nichols Photography on here before, she is the awesome photographer who did the photo shoot with Mattie Fran Designs back in June, and after seeing the other photos she had done I was more than willing to be a model. It did help that it came with an amazing make over and the fact that I got to spend all morning feeling beautiful in my dress again :) I just got the cd in and thought I would share with y'all......Oh and if you are wondering where the awesome hair piece came from head on over to Mattie Fran Designs where you can find it and much more!

Explore Day

Fire Fighter Style :)
For Luke's extra this week in school we studied community workers....fire fighters, police officers, mail men.
We also discussed 9/11 and how much worse that day would've been with out the fire fighters and police officers who helped.

So today Tiff and I headed out with all the kiddos to one of our local fire stations to take a tour.
We ended up at station 10 and the guys there were ah-MA-zing!
They were so patient with our very excited boys and took the time to show them everything there was to see.
I think it's safe to say the kids had a blast, and it doesn't take much to figure out what Luke wants to be now when he grows up :)

And because we all love a little comparison
