Four By Four

Doing it just for you Kim! Although you should already know that I read everything you post!

Four Of My Favorite Places To Go:

1. Voice To The Nations- My home away from home where my second family resides :)
2. My parents house- there's nothing like visiting the place you grew up and being around people who love you the most.
3. Target- that's a no brainer!
4. The Beach-I love the sun, sand, sound of the waves, just about everything there is to love

Four Favorite Smells:

1. A baby after a bath
2. Coffee
3. Gardenias
4. Clean sheets :)

Four Favorite Movies/Shows:

1. Dirty Dancing
2. Gossip Girl
3. What Not To Wear
4. The Twilight Series- yes I am one of those people :)

Four Recommendations:

1. Always be yourself
2. Never take one second for granted
3. If you find a true friend, hold on tight to them because they are few and far between
4. Stand up for yourself and don't let people walk all over you. (I'm working on this one now :))

A Little Piece Of Heaven

Today was one of those dreary overcast kind of days. Most people might moan and groan about them but for someone who is always eager to get out and play with her camera it was just right. So I put Mat down for a nap and Luke and I headed out to take some pictures. Y'all don't get to see a lot of this stud because he is in school most of the time. I am using that as my excuse for the picture overload that is about to come :)

Isn't he so handsome???? While editing these pictures I couldn't help but notice how much he has grown over the past couple of months. He has gone from looking like a little boy to, well, a boy. And I didn't think it was possible but he looks more and more like his daddy every day. Which use to annoy the poo out of me but now it is a blessing. Not just for me, but all of the people who were close to Andrew. Luke is a daily reminder of the life Andrew had and how much he loved his family, especially his little boy. And sometimes on those days it's nice to be able to look at his sweet face and see his daddy shinning through. It's like we have a little piece of Heaven right here with us.

Much Needed

I am sad to say that I have absolutely zip, zero pictures from this weekend. Why? Because it was one of those rare weekends that not one, but both of my children were gone and Scott and I had the whole house to ourselves. Which does happen every now and then but it's usually because we have things planned that we have to do. But this weekend there was nothing I had to do, no where I had to be, (well I did attend a bridal shower for Ms. Alicia but that doesn't count :)) and it was sooooo nice. After I dropped Matalie off with my fabulous sis-in-law(she reads my blog :)) I got back in my car and said to myself-what now? Of course I wanted to do something that I couldn't normally with the kiddos, so I headed back home, changed into my pj's, and vegged out on the couch all day. Can you say Heaven??? For once I didn't have to feed, change, bathe, talk to, play with, or answer to anyone. Just Me, Myself, and I and I took full advantage of it.

I did however make up for my laziness on Saturday with a little shopping, some crackacinno from Starbucks, a bridal shower, mani/pedi(which I was in desperate need of, just ask Mrs. Mabrey )a little shopping, and then dinner with the hubs. A girl could seriously get use to this! In the end though, I was the one hightailing it out of the church parking lot this morning to go swoop up my babies, because no matter how nice a couple days of freedom can be I can only take the quiet in my house for so long before I start missing the giggles, screams, non-stop chatter, and my name called a million and one times. Funny how as moms we long for a break and then when we get it we find our minds constantly wandering back to our munchkins.

On a side note, one of my munchkins has a Birthday in her near future. My Mattie-Bug turns two on Thursday. Two. While her attitude and sassy self portraits everything a two year old is known for I think I still might be in denial. My baby, not such a baby anymore. And you know that around here we don't let Birthdays pass unnoticed so you might want to hang around to catch a glimpse of the most girly sweetheart brunch you have ever seen! Hope Y'all had a fantabulous weekend!

What I Wore Wednesday

I am currently writing this at 1:17 am when I should be in bed sleeping. But because I was already up kicking off this new section of Mattie Fran Designs I figured I might as well do this one too. On another note, Spring has finally arrived and I have been L.O.V.I.N.G. every bit of it. Time to get out that summer wardrobe and hopefully get rid of all these sweaters(and the jean jacket) for good, or at least until next winter :)

Linking Up With The Pleated Poppy

Ten For Tuesday

1. The past couple of weeks I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off but when I try to put into words what I have actually done I can't think of anything which bugs the poo out of me.

2. We have another caffeine addict in the house. Matalie got ahold of Scott's coffee mug the other day and to say that she liked it would be an understatement. Although, she was very mellow the rest of the day so I am considering starting her off each day with a cup :)

3. I am soooooo ready for a vacation. Somewhere I can lay out on the sand, and hear the waves crashing at my feet, while my children build sandcastles nice and quietly all day long.

4. We are having some problems with Luke again lately. Right now we are dealing with a spirit of fear that is on him and we need all the prayers we can get for our little man and our family.

5. I need it to warm up about five more degrees so I can put a swim suit on and get rid of this pasty version of myself. I look like the walking dead.

6. I think it's safe to say that we have hit the terrible twos with Matalie. She's either into something, on something, completely ignoring me on purpose or telling me no. And her newest thing, putting her finger to her lips and telling me to shush when I get onto her. I honestly have no idea what I am going to do with her. Since Amber is accepting more children I'm thinking about just sending her over there and getting her back when she's 20-ish.

7, That being said, I can't believe my baby girl will be TWO in a couple of weeks. Seriously, where has the time gone???? It feels like we waited for her for forever and since she's been here it's just been a blur.

8. My house looks like a crafting war zone. Between all the necklaces I've been making for Mattie Fran Designs and all the things I have been putting together for Matalie's Sweetheart Party you can't see my counters. Not to mention that I have been busy getting all these things done that I have not been able to do my regular cleaning on top of that. Those who know me know that I am some what anal about how my house looks and it is always at the least picked up. I went to bed the other night with it a complete mess and honestly for the first time didn't care. I told Scott- So this is what the house would look like if I had a job- because as we all know I am the only one that knows how to put dishes in the dishwasher or a dirty sock in the laundry basket.

9. Have I mentioned that I NEED a vacation???????

10. The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous the past week. It's been in the high 60's low 70's with lots of sunshine. If I could find somewhere that had this weather all year round I would be there in a heart beat. The past couple of days have done wonders for my soul because after being cooped up in the house all last week it was nice to let the kids run free outside.

You see that nasty face up ^ there????????????
That's the look I get 99.9% of the time

Climbing Out Of My Hole

Mattie Fran Designs is now up and running but it was not with out effort. I got a crick in my neck, fabric from one end of my house to the other, I can't feel my finger tips from all the burns, and if I never see another hot glue gun again it will be too soon. Not to mention that I have been stuck in this little corner for the past five days

But I must tell you that despite all that I would do it a million times over just to feel that excitement I felt when my first order came through. Its one thing to say you are going into business and take all the necessary steps but something about complete strangers enjoying your creations enough to purchase them takes it to a whole other level. I also want to thank all my bloggy friends, and real ones, for helping me set this thing in motion. Y'all are amazing! If you haven't checked out Mattie Fran Designs yet head on over and check it out!

Visitor

Look who came to visit

Matalie wasn't so sure about him. She kept telling Scott to put him down. On another note, this little guy proves that I am not insane like my husband claimed me to be when I told him at 2 this morning that the loud frogs outside were keeping me awake.
