Class Of 2011

Friday morning was Luke's Kindergarten graduation. Oh.My.Word. Six year old's in caps and gowns have got to be the cutest thing I have ever seen in my whole life! I was going to have my friend Tiffany come and take pictures of the big day but at the last minute they limited the guests to three per child. I got some good ones but not nearly as good as she would have got! Enjoy the cuteness!!!

Hidden Treasures

Lately I have been noticing an over abundance of feathered creatures in our yard.

Example

I kept wondering where all of them were coming from and why they chose to settle down in our yard until this afternoon when I happen to spot what was growing on the tree they love so much.

We've had our very own Mulberry tree in the back yard and didn't even know it. I remember growing up my Aunt Mary use to have one of these in her yard and my cousin Abby and I would spend summer days underneath it eating the tart berries until our lips were stained purple. And relishing in those memories made me realize the hidden treasures life holds for us, whether it be days spent with the ones you love or something as simple as a mulberry tree, if we just take the time to look for them :)

They Call It Puppy Love

And oh boy am I in love with this little guy

And I am not the only one

But how can you blame us when you see a sweet little face like this

Meet Milo.
The newest addition to The Benefield family.
He is a weenie/ chihuahua mix who we adopted from the
Macon Humane Shelter as a birthday/graduation present for Luke and I.
He is my snuggler and Scott's playmate.
He thinks Matalie is crazy and that Luke hung the moon.
And we think that he is the perfect match for our little family.

What I Wore Wednesday

Joining the fun again with The Pleated Poppy and all you other lovely ladies out there :)
I title this week "Open Mouth, Insert Foot"

Why you might ask???

Because when presented with a gift card to Rue 21 for Mother's Day by my husband
I may or may not have pitched a little fit claiming that the only people that shop there
are "clubbers" and girls 18 and younger and I am neither.
But, as you all know, gift cards are non-refundable so this week I headed over there totally prepared to find nothing and be able to tell my husband I told you so.
I was wrong.
After 3 hours total in one store I finally made my final selections
And ended up spending more than what I had in gift cards.
Needless to say my husband got un-speakable joy by hearing me say he was right.

Anywho, onto some of what I did happen to stumble across at our local Rue.

LIfe In Fast Forward

Can someone please tell me where this past week has gone to? Somebody?? Anybody??? I spent all winter longing for spring and summer to get here so I could sit back, relax, and do the things I enjoy doing. So why is it that I am running in circles chasing my tail instead? May has been nothing but a blur so far and it's only going to get worse from here. With the exception of tomorrow we have something planned every morning and evening for the next week and I am already wishing for next Sunday to be here. I wanted to go ahead and share a couple things from this week before it comes to an end.

Wednesday morning we had Muffins For Mom at Luke's school and since he usually leaves the house before 7:20 every morning it was nice to be able to sit down and have breakfast with him.

(^^reason 1,329,056 that I love my sister-wife , she brings my flowers^^)

And Wednesday night I hosted my favorite event of the month, book club. I love to read, and I love having people to share my opinions on books with, but most of all I love my bookies. I don't realize how much I've missed them until that second Wednesday of every month when we get together, pig out on fried chicken, and talk about that months selection. This months book was Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman. I think we all agreed that it was cute and an easy read but would have made a better movie.

That's all I got. Hope to see y'all again before next Sunday but I can't make any promises :)! Have a good one!

Weekend In A Wrap

Friday we had Relay For Life for Luke's school. Jonesboro High School students hosted it and I was surprised to see that they actually did a pretty good job with keeping 400+ elementary school students in check.

Saturday was a day spent with my two favorite ladies, just the three of us, and the day was not nearly long enough. The hostess at Chilis got a good little chuckle when she asked how many and I responded just us three, no kids, no husbands!

Sunday started off with worship and an awesome word at my home away from home and ended at my parents house where I got to spend all day with my momma :)

On a side note, looking back at my schedule these past couple of weeks I can't help but notice how busy we have been. And the next couple of ones aren't going to slow down any. We have a baby shower in Florida, my birthday, cook outs, book club, the geranium festival, this little ballerinas recital, Luke's school musical, and his graduation. Yep, you heard me right, his graduation.....tear......although I can't tell you how happy I am to see this school year come to an end and be able to start homeschooling, something about the fact that my baby will be a first grader next fall tugs at my heart. Hope y'alls weekend was a great as mine :)

Wish List

What mothers want for Mothers Day is actually very simple
It does not require fancy packages, ribbons, or even tinsel
It is not very expensive, you will find that most of it is free
You want to make Mom happy? Try these things and she will be!

When Mom takes the time to bake you a cake and clean up all the dishes
Make sure you pick up all yours too, after you have finished

When you have to rearrange the plates just to try to make everything fit
Chances are that it is full and you might just need to start it

And the trash bags are not meant to hold a ton
So when you see it overflowing please put in a new one

And last, but certainly not least
Mom does not like a wet butt, so please put down the seat

And since you also used the last of the toilet paper
The closet, two feet away, has a replacement

See, I told you these things were easy, not very hard at all
And I promise she will like them more than chocolate, roses, or cards
Take my advise, you won't regret it
And she will think this is the BEST Mothers Day yet!
