Eight For Eight

Ever feel like your life is super crazy but yet when you sit down and think about what you actually do you find that you are stuck in the same routine that you do every day?

That's where I am right now.

 It's not that I am unhappy with my life  it's just that after doing the same thing day in and day out you forget the joy that simple occasions can bring. Like ridding in the car with the windows down.

 Pretty simple huh???

But that is what brought forth this feeling that there has got to be more to this 24/7 stay-at-home mom, wife, cleaner, cooker, laundry washer, bill payer job that I got going on.

So....I came up with a little list. No it's not one of those I want to sky dive, travel the world, and swim with sharks kind of lists. It's a list of things that as a mom I have forgotten about, pushed to the side, or just plain out haven't had time for. A list of those simple pleasures I mentioned earlier that may seem silly to want to accomplish but when you do it makes you appreciate the little things around you.

Since today I am exactly eight weeks away from my birthday I decided to do a list of eight things that I want to do before then. I also put the list on my pages so if you would like to tag along on this little journey you can :)

Eight For Eight

1. See a sunrise.
2. Pay for someone's meal in a drive thru.
3. Write a letter for each of my children telling them how much they mean to me.
4. Take a spontaneous day trip with my little family.
5. Have a picnic at the park.
6. Do a cook out and baseball game with our friends.
7. Camp outside with Luke for the night.
8. Have a pj's and movie day with my girlfriends.

Random Thursday

Luke: (running into my bathroom where I'm getting ready) MOM! MOM! MOM!

Me: (concerned look on my face) Yes Love?

Luke: Can I have an Alfy?

Me: An Alfy?

Luke: YES! I saw it on the tv and you have to order it for me!

Me: Ok....what does this Alfy do?

Luke: It's like a robot teacher so when I want to play school I won't have to pretend.

Me: (catching on to where this is going) Is that so???

Luke: YEP! And next year when I home school he can teach me so you don't have to!

Me: Nice try kid. See ya later

Sunshine, Family, And Baseball

Three of my favorite things :)

I don't know if y'all have noticed, but the weather here in the good ole peach state has be be-A-utiful! And what better way to enjoy the sunshine than going to the babseball field to watch one of your favorite little guys play ball. Well I guess I shouldn't call him little considering that Ben is 12 but I'm not quite ready to call him a teenager...yet. I still find it funny that a week ago we were freezing and yesterday I was lathering my children up with suncreen. Anyways, on to what you guys really came for....all the awesome pictures that I took while all the other parents looked at me like I was a crazy woman. Oh well, I've come to terms with  my camera addiction and I am A-OK with it :)

                       

Name That Facial Expression

Last Thursday Scott and I packed up all the munchkins and headed over to mellow mushroom to get our grub on. Because Georgia has now decided to grace us with it's pleasant weather again we decided to take advantage of it and sit on the patio. Me, being the crazy mommaratzi that I am, took full advanatge of the awesome lighting that I had and whipped out my camera. I had to laugh later that night when I was going through all the pictures and started realizing all the different faces Matalie has. Scott and I the spent the next thirty minutes naming all her facial expressions so I thought I would let you guys try your hand at it too. Who knows, I might even throw in a little something special from Mattie Fran Designs for the person who comes up with the funniest name(s) :). Have fun!!!!!
